Quick Garbanza (chickpea) Salad

According to Wikipedia:

The chickpea (Cicer arietinum) (also garbanzo bean, Indian pea, ceci bean, Bengal gram) is an edible legume of the family Fabaceae, subfamily Faboideae. Chickpeas are high in protein and one of the earliest cultivated vegetables. 7,500-year-old remains have been found in the Middle East.[1]

According to ME:  they are just frickin yummy in this quick and easy salad that I like as a stand alone or to put over couscous.

Ingredients:

1 small onion or 1/2 medium onion chopped

chopped red onions

1 can (drained) chickpeas

blurry can of chickpeas

3 Tablespoons Italian Dressing

Directions:

Add all three ingredients together in a bowl and chill for at least a half hour.

Really it’s that easy, but they do taste better if allowed to marinade over night :-)

Excuse the blurry photos I need new batteries in the camera or even better a camera that doesn’t suck 2 AA’s down quicker than a drunk does a beer after a dry spell.

I am usually not the kind of person to submit comments on other’s blog posts, but for your article I simply had to do it. I have been cruising around your site a lot recently and I am really impressed, I think you might potentially become the main opinions for your market. Not sure what your schedule is like in life, but if you started commiting more time to writing here, I’d bet you would start receiving a mass of traffic eventually. With ads, it could emerge as a nice second income source. Just a concept to ponder. Good luck!

Thank you, your site is rather spiffy also :-) Nothing is better than the ambrosia that can be produced from the humble coffee bean! Well, maybe a biscotti to go with it…

  3. This blog is great. How did you come up with the idea?

Thank you. Well, I craft a lot :-) and not everything that I do can be found because I make up some of it as I go. So I thought to myself one day, “Hey, I should share this.”

  5. Aw, this was a really quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this also – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and never seem to get anything done… Regards

  6. Really it’s not hard to just write something, and for something informal like this just pretend you’re telling a friend and just type, but thanks :-)
